Meet the Tutors

Two high school students who went from struggling with SAT Math to scoring in the 99th percentile — and now want to help you do the same.

Logan Li

📊 Math Score: 790

My name is Logan Li, and I'm a high school junior who recently scored a 790 on the SAT Math section this past December. My goal as a tutor is simply to help other students reach that same level, completely free of charge.

When I first started studying, I scored a 1180 on my opening practice test with a 630 in math. I expected better, but the truth was I had never been exposed to the specific types of questions the SAT asks.

I enrolled in Princeton Review's SAT prep course, but found it only scratched the surface. What actually moved the needle for me was grinding through real Bluebook practice tests, working through the CollegeBoard SAT Question Bank, and watching in-depth video explanations. Slowly but surely, my scores climbed, and by the time I sat down for my first real SAT, I was consistently hitting 770+ on the math section.

That journey taught me something important: most students don't struggle with SAT Math because they lack intelligence or knowledge. They struggle because they haven't been exposed to the patterns and question styles the SAT uses. Once you recognize those patterns, the test becomes a lot less intimidating.

I'm still on my own SAT journey, continuing to work on my English score and preparing for college applications, which means everything I share comes from real, recent experience. No outdated strategies, or simple advice that everyone talks about. Just what has actually worked for me.

That's exactly why I started FreeSATMath. Test prep doesn't have to be boring or expensive. My goal is to help students genuinely understand the material, build real confidence, and walk into test day prepared.

📊 Math Score: 760

Hi, my name is Roman Grilli. I am a student at Westwood High School going into my senior year in the fall of 2027. When I first took an SAT practice test, I scored a 550 on math and an 1180 total. I thought my score would never be good — I even considered going test optional.

I kept trying though, doing countless practice problems and tests, and eventually learned everything I could. That persistence paid off: I ended up with a 1540 on a practice test and a 760 on the real SAT math section.

The only thing I wish I could have had to make my studying process easier and less stressful was a fellow high schooler to show me the ropes and guide me on how to study more efficiently. That is exactly what Logan and I hope to do for you, so you too can get the score you've always wanted.

From Struggling Students to 750+ Scorers

Logan and Roman both started their SAT Math journey with scores under 600. Like many students, they felt overwhelmed by the breadth of topics and the pressure of the test. Through consistent practice with Bluebook tests, mastering the CollegeBoard question bank, and learning to use Desmos efficiently, they both broke through to scores in the high 700s.

After experiencing that transformation firsthand, they realized they wanted to give back. SAT prep can be expensive, and quality tutoring shouldn't be reserved for those who can afford it. That's why they founded FreeSATMath — a completely free, volunteer-run program dedicated to helping every student reach their full potential on the SAT Math section, regardless of background or budget.

Both tutors attend the same high school and run FreeSATMath together, splitting teaching responsibilities and creating content across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok so students can access help anytime, anywhere.
